Freedom Of Choice
We all love freedom, it’s our right as a citizen of this Free country in which we live. Isn’t it a wonderful feeling; to know you are free to make your own decisions, go where you please, and do what you want.
Because of the wonderful freedoms we have, we expect the same freedom of choice from our insurer as to who fixes our car. And why wouldn’t we? You expect the quality repair work, and peace of mind that comes with knowing your car has been fixed to a standard that ensures the safety of you and your family everytime you go for a drive.
Many insurers promise this freedom of choice when you agree to their policy, though quite often when we call them they give us the opposite impression. But don’t be fooled it is 100% YOUR CHOICE!
Most insurance companies just require a little insistence on your part. So below are a few steps you can take in order to ensure you have your car repaired by the repairer YOU CHOOSE.
1. CALL YOUR CRASH REPAIRER
This may seem a little backwards, but it is a great idea to call the people you’d like to have fixing your car before calling your insurance company. Some of our most loyal customers give us a call before their insurance, just to make sure they know exactly what to do next. One customer has been on the receiving end of some unfortunate collisions in the last 12 months. The first call he made after reporting the accident to the police, was to us. Knowing you have the support of the repairer often helps with making your requests known to your insurer.
2. CALL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY
In order for you to make a claim, you’ll have to let your insurer know. This is often a call people hesitate to make, due to how uncomfortable these conversations can be, especially when you insist on using your chosen repairer and your insurance company tries to push you into going with a repairer of THEIR choice. Remember to be firm, if you know you have a choice, be upfront and say that you have a reputable (preferrably RAA approved) repairer that you’d like to use. If you are direct and remain firm most good insurers will comply happily. With others, they may pressure you into using their chosen repairer, which often is the one that will save them the most money.
3. CALL YOUR REPAIRER BACK
At this stage you can call your repairer back with the claim information that has been supplied by you insurance company. The sooner the repairer has this information, the sooner they can put together a quote and deal with the insurance company for you. Giving you complete peace of mind. Call or drop in to any of our centres, and we’ll happily help you get back on the road.
REMEMBER
Crash repair is our business, and we have dealt with many varieties of insurer, if you have any questions as far as what you need to tell your insurance company in order to make a claim and use the best repairer for you, please give us a call. We’re happy to serve you, and help you gain the peace of mind that goes with being back in your car safely, quickly, and with a minimum of stress.
